|Clint Souligny, Minister of Outreach & Congregational Life|
Before accepting his present position at Trinity in 2008, Clint served in Sun Valley, ID as the Coordinator of Spanish Translators/Interpreters with the Blaine County School District working with 5 elementary schools, 2 middle schools and 1 high school.
Previously, he served internationally as EFL Consultant & Trainer with LCMS/WM (20+ countries,1995-2000), CGM English Center in Thailand (2001-2003), and on the ground floor of new faith community/church plant start up in Barquisimeto, Venezuela (1985-1993) as well as Volunteer Mission Team Coorindator in the crazy Caracas (2004-2006).
Presently, he has special interest in community partnerships, adult education, missional living, Alpha outreach, Life Groups, community-based men's groups and building int'l bridges through cross-cultural friendships. A future dream for Trinity is to create a ESOL Community Center serving int'l students, refugees and immigrants. Clint has also enjoyed helping create Trinity's biennnel Valentine Weekend Couples Get-Away at Skamania Lodge in the scenic Columbia River Gorge.
A graduate of Concordia, Seward (1980), he has a deree in teaching with a specialty in adult education. Before Concordia, Clint spent two years of intensive study of God's Word at CLBI, then a year of graduate studies at Fuller Seminary in Adult Ed / Spiritual Formation and Cross Cultural Studies / Cultural Anthropology.
Clint and his wife Cheryl enjoy many things about the Northwest and greater Portland area -- the farmer's markets, the ethnic food carts, Salt & Straw Ice Cream and Longbottom Black Gold coffee. Every Labor Day, he and a few friends join 500 others for a 1.2 mile early morning swim across the Columbia River near the Hood River Bridge
Whenever possible Clint and Cheryl enjoy exploring the vineyards, orchards and back roads of Oregon on his 1100 "Black Beauty" Virago. They have four children, all born outside the US, all now university grads of Pepperdine, Concordia/Irvine, Azusa Pacific and Seatlle Pacific respectively and, as of New Year's day 2017 -- proud grandparents of a beautiful grandson.
