Radiant Pin Cushion

April 19, 2009 Project - Radiant Pin Cushion designed by Jean Wells from the Stitchin Post in Sisters, Oregon

Great for easy gifts and use of scraps!  It is done by paper piecing.  Diane Bliss is queen of paper piecing and is will to demonstrate this technique on Sunday.

If you are interested, bring a variety of scraps (minimum of 32 1"X4" if making one pincushion) a 1 1/2" square for the center circle (if you resist appliqué, you can whipstitch a piece of wool, or use a button) and a 4½" square for backing.

Print copies of the pattern onto light weight copy paper. (don't cut the pattern out just yet....!) rice, sand or whatever to stuff....you can do that part at home.

You can also make a 4½" muslin sack to stuff and then insert that into your finished pincushion.
